World Squash Day – Satuday 22nd October 2016

This October squash clubs all over the world will be celebrating World Squash Day.

Squash is recognised as one of the healthiest sports in the world. Great for fitness, weight loss and making friends, it is also a sport for life.

Local Highsted girl, Amelia Henley, started playing at am early age at Rodmersham Squash Club with her family and is now one of the top England players in her age range, currently holding the position of U19 European Champion.

Squash, although an Olympic sport, but currently not on the schedule (yet!!) it is a fantastic sport to play for its benefits to health and fitness as well as being extremely sociable.

Rodmersham Squash and Fitness Club, Sittingbourne, is a family friendly place open to everyone – members and non members alike.  With 6 squash courts, a fully equipped gym and a fully licensed bar it offers an excellent facility to get involved with the whole family.

The club is promoting World Squash Day on Saturday 22nd October to give people the opportunity to try squash or Racketball (now named Squash 57).  Starting from 1 o’clock there will be free bookable coaching sessions with qualified coaches available for families and groups of 4 or more people, young or old. You do not need anything except sports kit and good trainers. Everything else will be available to borrow free of charge on the day.

If dashing around a squash court is not your thing, try the gym. All the club’s facilities are free for day.

Whether you have tried the sport before or are just interested in ‘having a go’ then contact the club on 01795 422121 to book your session or send an email to thesquashclub@live.com.
